I don't know if there is a connection; however,my grandfather was Carl Ellsworth Hamilton. He was born in Grand Tower, IL and died in Payne, OH. The name, Ellsworth, is so unusual that I assume it was a family name somewhere along the way. Carl's father, Lewis T. Hamilton, was born in IL or MO (shows up in two different census records) and his grandfather lived in DuQuoin, IL. Do you know of any family connection to IL?
