I descend from the Hamiltons and Calhouns of Abbeville, S.C. Francis Hamilton Simons is the daughter of Jane Hamilton Calhoun and Joseph Webb Symonds M.D. ( Joseph is one of my brick walls. I'd love to know his lineage.) Jane's Hamilton line seems to be reinforced through her father Ezekial Calhoun's line, and her mother Francis Hamilton's line. If I am seeing this correctly these 2 are relatives both descending from Alexander Calhoun and Judith Hamilton in Tyrone, Ireland. The paternal line of Francis through Andrew to Archibald Hamilton (also in Tyrone) may also be connected to this same family. I will need to find out Archibald Hamilton's parents. Ezekial Calhoun's grandmother is Catherine Montgomery.Add to this that Catherine's parents are Hugh Montgomerie and Margaret Hamilton in Tyrone. This may show at least a 4 way reinforcement of this family, depending upon who these Hamilton's are traced to. Quite ! a family alliance!!!
