He married Sarah (possibly Massey). Their known children were: George W. b: 1839 Delaware; Courtland C. b: 1845 Delaware; John Quimby b: 1849 Delaware; Franklin Pierce b: 1852 Delaware (my g-grandfather); William b: 1855 Iowa (died 1860 in IA.); Elvira M. b: 1860 Iowa. Family lore on Joseph was that he was an orphan, from Scotland. I have nothing on who Joseph's parents could be or where they were from. In the 1850 New Castle County, Christina Hundred, Delaware census, Joseph is listed as a Stone Mason. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
