Catherine Linn 5-Jul-1862 >From his obituary 30 May 1898 Elkhart Daily Review: "One treasure he cherished was his commission as first lieutenant of the New Jersey militia, which bore the date of 1828. Mr. Hamilton came to Tecumseh, Michigan from the east in 1832, and resided there until December 1896, when he came to Elkhart and took up his residence with his son, P. A. Hamilton.
