    2. Jackie; I sort of use the same theory, except I am searching alot of names as well. However, ever generation I go back I need to know more about the mother and fathers and I have to research their line. I am curious about other families inside my family and I agree with you. They hold the key and sometimes the famiy Bible got passed down to the strangest people even step children or other cousins. Good luck. I don't think John is being offensive. It was an overwhelming list, but I would do it too, if I just had the time. Every clue is worthwhile and in genealogy you have to dig. I am neither "something" nor special. I am just like about any other person on this list -- trying to find more information about my family. My father died shortly before I was born and that whole side of the family is "gone" to me as far as family history goes. I am trying to piece my father's side of the family back together again and know I have a long way to go, but have found quite a bit of info thus far through the help of friends and family on the internet, especially the rootsweb mailing lists, by posting the surnames I am researching. Believe it or not, I've had several people on the list contact me for more information on the "surnames" I listed and have already made one "cousin" connection this past week alone. It is people like you who make some of us (who are serious about genealogy) not want to post our info, share our databases, etc. if this is the kind of treatment we are to receive. > > Jackie > > _____________________________________________________________________ > Get your own family web site at at www.MyFamily.com! > > > > > --MyFaMiLyMiMeBoUnDaRy02292000-- > > > ==== HAMILTON Mailing List ==== > Visit http://www.hamiltongensociety.org/ > New home page of the Hamilton National Genealogical Society, Inc. > and > Clan Hamilton Society > web site: www.clanhamilton.org **NEW** > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
