Hamilton County Texas is named after the Governor. John Hamilton
Hi Dave, have you any idea of the other children's (son's) names born to William Hamilton, father of James? I found a page on the web that gives the names of 4 sons William names in his will. Being from the area in Ireland that the Samuel Woodside my Hamilton is connected to is a possible lead I'm thinking.. Thanks for the info you shared.. Dave I have a James Hamilton born in Orange County Virginia, in 1757, and died in Feb 6,1844 in McMinn Co. Tenn. This is a far back as I have been able to go. I do have a Luke Hamilton as his father but not records to that effect. Some one just sent it to me but I could not find him anywhere. Sally Hamilton
