What will you do with that $400 if you don't spend it on Ancestry? Pay the electric bill, or go to Starbucks a few times? Of course, I'm presuming that there is a "$400." As I continue to search for the end of the internet, I am amazed at what is available for free. We humans tend to think that free things are worth just about what we paid for them, but I think we should reconsider. On a Kansas genealogical web site, I found a full-page, trascribed biography (from a book published in 1919) of my grandfather who died in 1951. Extremely accurate, detailed, and provided more info than even my older cousins remembered. This was worth all the 'unproductive' hours I've spent on the net. I've also found third cousins, a fourth cousin, and my mother's dear first cousin whom I remember from my childhood. He has photos I've never seen.
