    1. Re: [HAM] Hamilton surnames
    2. This is a long shot, at best, I noticed the intermarriages of Wilson and Killian. My husband line is Killian and there are Wilson in it from the Coosa County, Alabama area. Any connections down this way. It looked like his George Washington Hamilton was born in what looks like, from 1850 census, as Ma, I guess that could be intrepreted at Maryland or Massachesetts next census shows him born in South Carolina and then Alabama. Who knows what the person intrepreted taht the census taker wanted or what they gave or who gave it. I am guessing his father was William, because 1850 census shows a William Hamilton nearby in 1840 census and dates approximate dates match. I have my data on rootsweb.com, world connect family trees database named pkcb113 pat > > From: "Trisha Fitz Randolph" <[email protected]> > Date: 2006/07/17 Mon PM 02:28:51 EDT > To: [email protected] > Subject: [HAM] Hamilton surnames > > I wanted to add some of the surnames I have that married into my Hamilton line from Scotland to PA... > > Steel, Wagner, McCutcheon, Hoffman,Courtney, Craig, Wilson,Baird, Alsworth, Frey, Young, Howell, McKeaver, Spears, Foight, Christy,Roth, Aites, Green, Burr, Holinger,FitzRandolph, Killian > > Most of the surnames are from the Westmoreland area of PA > > Trisha > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pahamilton/ > > > ==== HAMILTON Mailing List ==== > Visit http://www.hamiltongensociety.org/ > Homepage of the Hamilton National Genealogical Society, Inc. > and > www.clanhamilton.org > Homepage of Clan Hamilton Society > >
