Only found one family tree, with no person listed as the submitter. Might have been you? Much more info about Caroline, very little about John Hamilton. It had Caroline born in London, 1850, to John Kemp and Caroline Buller. Children Carrie, James and Catherine Hamilton, no dates. A John Hamilton registered to vote in Storey County (Virginia City is in that county) on 20 Oct 1866. Not much else to go on. Strange, no mention of John Hamilton, with the 1846 DOB in any census. A John Hamilton from Ireland shows up, but he was older than your John. I have a John Hamilton born about 1946 in my family! I'm sure that won't help you at all...
