    3. They were my 3rd > great of course. From there my family was W. Va., eastern Onio, western Pa., Edwin Merryman - Responding to your line shown above. I'm looking for a Jonathan Hamilton, b. ca. 1860-1870, who ended up in Bedford Co. PA. I only have a date and place of birth for Jonathan's third child, Sarah Hamilton Berkshire. She was born in Virginia in 1788. NOW, in 1788 the Mason Dixon line hadn't be drawn between MD and VA and PA so the westerly end of PA was still being called Virginia. Just wondering if your Hamiltons may have been there? Connie

    3. First I apologize. I forgot I was answering a family newsletter. I also apologize as it is my merryman line that went too W. Va. Ohio, Pa. then N.j. My Hamiltons went to other areas also but I do not have too much. I have not found much on them. A couple of of the families they intermarrid with were Oggs and Shipleys I was really looking for help more than I have much to give. I am sorry.Ed Merryman. I am not used to writing other than individuals. 3. Dear Connie, etal, I am sorry but I was trying to find out if anyone could help me with my Hamiltons. did not think that I was connected to the rootsweb family letter. I seldom address them. I have several and usually just contact those that might be able to help me. My Merryman line is the one that went to W. Va. etc. To my knowledge my Hamiltons originated in Maryland, at least in this country, and I have been trying for 30 years to find out their origin.
