Hi Stephanie, Yes, I am also researching the Pettyjohn line.  My husband is a Pettyjohn.  As I understand this lineage the names Pettyjohn and Pettijohn have ancestors in common.  I was able to trace this lineage from Merwyn Bryan Pettyjohn's book Les Petitijeans: The Voyage to Turtle Island.  If I can be of help just let me know.  You can find what I have on my husband's line on www.rootsweb.ancetry.com   Search for Dwayne Marvin Pettyjohn.  There are two of my files on this site.  Click on the one from mpettyjohn.
