I have no idea if He and Ernest were related however, as you probably know most of the Birth death and Marriage data for Cork for periods earlier were lost in the fires of 1916 and 1922. It was a tradition in Irish families to name off spring with the Christian names of relatives, so given the common first names and the same time frame it is a possibibility. My father died in 2002 so unfortunately I can not ask him. My grandfathers name was George Hamilton (died 1918 in an accident in a Flour Mill) My grandmothers maiden name was Margeret Delaney.(died 1938) My father was the youngest of 9 children. My grand Mothers maiden name was Margeret Delaney The children in age order were: Bridie James Gilbert Margeret Jeremiah Christine Elizabeth Katherine Thomas. That is about as much as I know. Should my ancestral tracing cross paths with yours I will send further updates. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi. I am related through my father to George Hamilton who is purported to have emigrated from Monaghan, Ireland with his wife Ann and 5 children to Adelaide, South Australia in 1854. My g/grandfather Richard Bowman married their youngest daughter, Emily at Kensington in 1861. I would dearly love to communicate with anyone who might have information about this family of Hamiltons and their history or who might be able to point me in the right direction. I have been able to trace my Bowman ancestry back to the 15th century but am finding it difficult to trace these Hamiltons. There must be many relatives still living in South Australia who could help. Regards, Geoff Bowman of Darwin, Australia. gandm@iinet.net.au

Hello, The following obit appeared in the Tuesday, January 17th, 1950 edition of the Hamilton Spectator. The Hamilton Spectator is published in Hamilton, ON, Canada. Trying to determine if the William Alexander HAMILTON below is the father of William Fry HAMILTON. If so, he was married 1st to Margaret (maiden name unknown so far) and 2nd to Sarah PARK. Had 4 children with Sarah Park: Stanley Park, Russell, Arthur and Isabella (Jane). Thanks in advance. Take care. Sincerely, Deanna Staats HAMILTON - At Hamilton, Ont. on Monday, January 16, 1950, William Alexander Hamilton, formerly of 245 (?) James Street South, beloved husband of Florence Middleton. At Blachford and Wray's Main Street and West Avenue. Service private in the chapel on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone on the list is researching the family of William Alexander HAMILTON below? When did he and Margaret marry? Where? I know he was widowed before 1922, as that is the year he married my maternal grandmother, Sarah PARK, in Hamilton, ON. I think William Fry Hamilton died in 1984 or so. I would like to find out when William Alexander Hamilton died and where he is buried. William and Sarah were later divorced. William A. Hamilton may have married a third time. Who? William and Sarah had the following children: Stanley Park, Russell, Arthur and Isabella (Jane). Any help whatsoever would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Take care. I have researched the family of Robert Hamilton who died in Morgan Co. in 1810. I consider it possible that old John, Cader's father, was a son or a brother to my Old Robert, merely due to the fact they probably lived close together. In 1812, a John Hamilton paid taxes on 101 &1/2 acre in Indian Creek in Morgan Co. Old Robert's land was on Indian creek also, which lies in the south part of Morgan Co. and north part of Putnam Co. John and Cader are listed on the same page in the 1820 Putnam Co. Census, Capt. John Berry's District. From there I take it they moved to Newton Co. where John died in 1827 and Rebecca in 1845, both leaving wills. I am wonderimg if there is a DNA report on record from any of this line. We have two from the line of Old Robert Hamilton, one through his son Rev. Robert, and one through another son, William. If so, we need to see how close we match or miss Yours, Glenn Hamilton Morrison Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Regarding the recent post about a discount for DNA tests, the deadline for receiving the discount has been extended to September 30. I would also encourage all those with Hamilton lines to have a male from their line tested. The procedures for joining the Hamilton DNA project are described at <http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/g/a/gah4/HamDNA/H1.html> However, during the month of September the cost for the tests is up to 35% lower than the prices given there. Married my great-grandmother who was about 40 years younger. They had 3 children, William A. Hamilton; Alvie C. Hamilton; & Vera Hamilton. It's my understanding that he passed away around 1907 in or around Winder, GA. Both great-grandparents had been married before and widowed. Each had other children by first marriages.
