I am also researching Hamiltons in Toronto Twp., Peel Co., Ontario. My ggg-grandparents, Alexander Hamilton & Jane Brown, from Co. Monaghan, are buried in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Streetsville. It is likely your William is connected to my family. Hey Listers, I want to apologize for all the confusion I caused in the "Coming to America" segment. I believe I misled many, and in the process attached my cousin Shari's name to the mis information. Believe me, I'm going to try to be on my toes in the future. She and you all have been very gracious. Sincerely, Mary Johns
Audrey writes... Does anyone have a connection with these Hamiltons traveling up into >> Liberty/Marion/Dillon Co. of SC. I have a Francis, David, John, & William >> there in the late 1790s and early 1800s. Audrey- we might be able to connect something here. I just might but not sure.. I'm trying to find the parents of ANTHONY L. HAMILTON that married ELIZABETH WOODSIDE. Do you have a middle initial for your DAVID? They were from the upstate of SC. Born back in the 1790's. Elizabeth's family is of the SAMUEL CUNNINGHAM WOODSIDE family that was listed in the Camden district in the 1790 SC census. Samuel came from Ireland-was born in the earlier part of 1700. David and John are listed on page 83 -- but this page might be for the Pendleton area... of the same census along with Samuel Woodside. Now, move forward a few years up into Livingston KY. These same names -the Woodsides and Hamiltons appear together in the 1810 census-along with a William and Patrick Hamilton. Sandy Hamilton HAMILTON KIMZEY WOODSIDE CRAIG ARMSTRONG --these names are from the Hamilton part I'm working on

Verifying any info that will show ANTHONY L. HAMILTON came from SC? Possibly born in early 1790's? He married ELIZABETH WOODSIDE of the Samuel Cunningham WOODSIDE family. They eventually migrated to Livingston Kentucky where Samuel's family moved as well. There are 4 male Hamilton listed on the 1810 Livingston Co. KY census--DAVID L., JOHN, PATRICK, and WILLIAM as well as ANTHONY L. Samuel Woodside's family is also listed there. I'd like to find out Anthony's parents names, his actual birthdate and place. They had at least 2 sons. One is WOODS L. Hamilton and the other is ANTHONY S. Hamilton. Anthony is my connection. Sandy Hamilton HAMILTON CALDWELL CRAIG ARMSTRONG WOODSIDE for this line..
My greatgrandfather's brother, James Leonard Hamilton, lived in Alton and in fact was buried there in 1935. One son was Emer Lee, but no Damon. Leonard had 22 brothers and sisters and there is a chance that one or more of them was living in Alton as well. If you would like their names and the names of their parents, etc, let me know.
