I have thought for some time that my Wm. Hamilton, may have been a "love child", when the only mention of his mother is on his death registration. Is there any help for us, his ancestors, to learn the answer? Could SKS please look into this for me, or tell me where I might write or look up on the web? Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xFh.2ACEB/3249 Message Board Post: Need date of birth, date of death, any other info. We have copies of letters from April `1888 thru April 1893 that he wrote to his cousin Susie Nevada Howell who later married John Haynes. We believe that he is the son of George Thomas Hamilton and Elizabeth Sarah Howell. His grandparents were Daniel Wagnon Howell and Mary Oslin. He had at least one child named " Kitty" that he tried to enroll in a college in Wildwood FL in 1891, later moved because the college had trouble. He served in the Civil War in the GA 13th Regiment and possibly lost a leg per info in his letters. Last known residence was Clermont FL in 1893..... He did work in Salt Springs GA which is now Lithia Springs, GA in 1888 as a Sweetwater Hotel employee.... We lean most that his family ties were around Birmingham, AL and Troup County, GA.... Any new info or PHOTOS would be greatly appreciated......
