I got a deed today for a Lewis M. Hamilton, thinking he was one of mine. However this Lewis is from Baltimore and mine are from Allegany Co. MD, other end of the state. Also checked out his will and found he died 12/24/1904 in Baltimore and left all to his wife, Sarah H. Hamilton. Does this fellow belong to any one out there and would you like to have the deed? It's for a lot in Cumberland, MD, on Prospect Street, a very influential neighborhood with the Courthouse across the street, both on the land once known as Fort Cumberland when it was named in 1755 by Gen. Edwin Braddock. He kept his English forces there as well as Capt. George Washington as they prepared for the first big battle of the French and Indian War. Braddock lost.
