This is all the information I have on him. At one point my family told me that he was an orphan then they told me that he was born out of wedlock so I am not sure if hamilton was his fathers last name or his mothers maiden name of step fathers name. I was also told that he was raised by a relative because his step father did not want to raise someone elses child.
Audrey, Thanks for the response. The names you mentioned (Francis, etc.) don't sound familiar at all. But since I am fairly certain my Zack Hamilton came from Marion Co. SC, I would imagine there's a connection somewhere between my Hamiltons and yours. You have Wiggins, too???!!! Me too!!!! I am descended from Daniel Wiggins who came from SC and went to Dothan, Al., where he is buried. I, too, will keep your name on file in case I find any other information that may connect us. Take care, Stephanie

Zack Hamilton may have been a brother to Levi Hamilton, > > who was also born in SC and ended up in Jackson Co. Fl. > Is anyone else researching these names? Stephanie Hello Stephanie, Happy Holiday to You and Yours, The above does not seem to be an immediate connection. BUT................. There is a book "History of Marion Co., SC" by W.W. Sellers. Many libraries that have a Genealogy Dept. will have copies. Mr. Sellers was a resident of the area and gives bios of Many of the families. There is another book written by a lady that has Pee Dee (for the PeeDee River) in the title. I don't remember a Zack nor Levi; however, I have seen those two names somewhere. They did not connect and I have no records. In the census of Marion Co., there are two fellas, John & David Hamilton for 1800 and David and Frances in 1820. In a tax list for 1809, there is a Frances and William. In going through the court files there is a Francis Hamilton with wife, Lydia that bought property in the late 1700s and sold some in the early 1800s. I find no other mention of a Francis. None of the known children were called Francis. And as for David, other than the 1800 &1820 census and a note of a David Private of the War of 1812, Keith's 5 Regiment, SC militia Marion Co., SC; there is nothing more of David. In going through the other census, some of my fellas have had the spelling of Hambelton/Hambleton. There is a hint that the Hamiltons migrated from Charleston, SC. My Hamilton/Wiggins did not move to GA until 1892. Yet there are a fist full of Hamiltons in GA with a note that they came from SC. Will keep your name on file and if I should see the above two names will contact you, Good Luck and Great Hunting Audrey

He was twenty years older than his bride. Then I have Daniel Mcpherson b. Oct. 1755 married Susannah Kincheloe in 1772. This Daniel's father was Richard Mcpherson and his mother was Elenor Barton. Richard's father was also Daniel b about 1705 married Elizabeth Thompson? Some things I have read seem to indicate that William and Daniel (1705?) might have been brothers. It is all very confusing. I am inclined to think that Daniel Mcpherson B. 1755 was Susannah's husband. I am descended from Delia Mcpherson, daughter of Reuben Mcpherson, who is sometimes and sometimes not given as a son of Daniel and Susannah Mcpherson. Daniel Mcpherson b. 1729 was born in Port Tobacco Charles Co. Md.
There was an Otho Hamilton and sons John and Otho who also had sons in Nova Scotia 1710 to 1763.They were British military and there were Henrys in the family. Some left NS for Cork Ireland but some stayed.
