    3. You might want to try http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ to try to obtain your gggrandfather's birth registration. This is a fee-for-service site so you need a credit card (I down graded my limit on one of mine for use on internet sites like this ... just in case!) In searching, the year is post civil registration so you will need place of birth very specific. Good luck, Diane Sheppard

    1. [HAM] Serious Hamilton/Brigman Issues...HELP
    2. Hello! The Bias Hamilton in the 1880 Marion Co. SC census is Tobias Hamilton. His daughter was Rachel and Rachel's daughter was Daisy. Daisy is Helen Daisy Brigman. see site below for more info on her. (note: the family for Ruby is below...all names and dates are accurate) http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=craigsmith& id=I058899 I can't explain why Daisy appears in the 1880 Marion Co SC census as a Hamilton. Possibilities are Rachel had Daisy out of wed-lock, he (Daisy's Dad) ran off, was killed or was just not in at the census guy came round. I have a copy of a written letter from Helen Daisy's daughter, Irene Todd Buffkin, stating "her Mother was Helen Daisy Brigman. Helen Daisy's Mother was Rachel Hamilton and Rachel's father was Tobias Hamilton." I'm very interested in this Hamilton family and am willing to persue any avenue that may lead to the discovery of who this Brigman guy is or how the Brigman name came to be. This also raises the question.....Also listed in the 1880 Marion Co Manning Twp. census under Bias (Tobias) is a child, Katy aged 3. Is she also the daughter of Rachel? Or is she the daughter of Helen who married Volentine Rowell. I've found no record of Katy residing with Helen and Vol. I'm going out on a limb and guessing that Katy is also the daughter of Rachel and may very well be a Brigman.... Help?? All info below is accurate if you need it...Ruby is the Daughter of Helen Daisy Brigman, granddaughter of Rachel T. Hamilton and great granddaughter of Tobias Hamilton. 1. [HAM] obits
    2. Sharon Hamilton
    3. Hi all, I love it when someone shares an obit, but I would also like to encourage everyone to share their records by sending them to the archivist at the county level for US GenWeb Archives. The sites are usually wonderful and many people go to them to look for obits and docs before doing a search of queries or discussions. To find the state and county, go to the US GenWeb Archives located at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ and then select the state. Once at the state, select the county. On the county page, there should be info that tells you who to submit to. And don't be throw off by the info about how to submit. If you don't have time to format it, try sending it anyway. I am the archivist for the Osage County and Osage Nation GenWeb (Oklahoma) archives and I am always delighted to get documents...no matter the format. It makes more work for me, but I'd rather put in the extra time and have the document than the alternative of no document. My spouse is descended from the Hamiltons of Madison County, Kentucky. I am stuck at Bluford Hamilton born about 1810. Someone on the web thought his father was Thomas Hamilton who went to Indiana. But so far...no proof. Merry Christmas to all! Sharon Hamilton
