    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hamilton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xFh.2ACEB/4429.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Since I'm a Census hound, I looked at the 1850 and 1860 Census as well. Sarah Evans is James C. later wife; there a Mary (? -- don't have it open now) in 1860, to go along with the kids born before 1863 enumerated in the 1870 Census. The John Hamilton born ca. 1792 in KY, present in all three Census (1850, 1860, 1870) in Jacksonville, would seem to me to be a likely candidate for the father of these, and maybe the Noah, Hezekiah, William, etc.? Or perhaps some of these were nephews ... as I recall there was another KY-born man in 1850 DOB ca. 1808?

    3. Got my usual "its time to renew" call a couple of days ago. Was told then that the U.S. Deluxe is $179.40, Magazine 24.95 and World Deluxe is $299.40. They did not mention being able to select individual data access, but that is all I was interested in. Lucky enough that my family pitches in and pays for it for my birthday. Which is something I would rather have than a new dress or blouse, etc. Just a thought, but my daught says she wishes her hobby only cost her $300 a year. (She is heavily into scrapbooking). My family did this for me once, and now they know it is what I really want. You are right, if I had to pay for it, I would probably not. I have been know to look up someone else's ancestor for them. Write me privately ([email protected]). Just do not swamp me with requests, my old brain does not work very fast now days. I never considered that Shelton could be a middle name... I have found Shelton listed on the 1860, 1850 census for Morgan Co. Also Shelton is listed in the 1872 Plat Book. But can't find anything else. I went to the court house for Death certifcate and Marriage license for James, but parents were not listed on either one. I've looked up Obit for James hoping it would give names.... but no luck there either.. just children were listed. I just keep hitting a brick wall

    3. Hello, That is a big price to have to come up with all at one time and for some it means they will have to drop it. I received a call from Ancestry about the new package deal, I just renewed three months ago and the price it will be next fall when I should renew, I am afraid I will not be able to do so. It will lead to some splitting the account with another party, they both use the same account name and number and that isn't right. 3. I am absent minded, The census was 1880 Indiana Fayette Co. Connersville Enumerated on 8 June 1880. This census says William Hamilton age 30 born im Indiana; his wife was Ella age 25 born in Indiana. Don't have a record for 1890 Don't have a record for 1900 1910 Censes, Indiana, Fayette Co. In Connersville 4th district and enumerated on 16 April 1810. it gives William Hamilton age 59 and his wife as Ella age 65 born in Indiana. 1920 Census Indiana Fayette Connersville. Enumeration date 5 & 6 Jan 1920 gives William M. Hamilton age 69 born Indiana; his wife is listd as Ellen B age 65 born in Indiana but with the same children which are my aunts and uncles. All dates and ages are correct. My grandfather was married once. They had 6 children in which 4 were still alive. Theodore and Lulu died young. I think he was 15 and she died the same day. I have further information and pictures of my grandfather and grandmother. I will help you if you can help me. My father only produced females. One son and daughter died at birth from a heart defect. 3. It's my understanding that if you're currently subscribed to individual items (i.e. census images) you may continue getting only those that you want and do not have to sign up for the complete package - at least for now. I received a call from Ancestry about the new packages but I opted to keep what I have. I don't know how long that will last and possibly the individual pricing will increase so that the total package becomes the better option. Right now not all my items come due at the same time and that is helpful to the old budget. S.B. Mason

    3. Has anyone researched the following Hamiltons, who appear in the early land records of Tryon (later Lincoln) Co., NC: John, William and Alexander? Land records beginning in 1778 show they owned land on the south fork of the Catawba River, quite close to the SC border. I am trying to find the family of my Charles Hamilton, who also lived in the area at the same time. What I have on Charles can be viewed at http://azstrong.tripod.com/jd_letha/legacy/882.htm. 2. If you are on a fixed income, check into your local library. Some county libraries offer home internet access, with a library card, to sites like Heritage Quest. I understand they do not contain quite as much info as ancestry.com but it's free with your library card, you just log on at home. -----Original Message----- From: M & E Lee <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, 12 Jan 2006 12:31:04 -0600 Subject: Re: [HAM] Ancestry.com I am on a small and fixed retirement income and family genealogy is the main thing I have to look forward to doing. 2. Does anyone have information about the Hamilton Esq. noted on the map of Douglas Lanarkshire c1813? I am wondering if my great great grandfather Dr. James Hamilton is a connection. According to what is on his tombstone in Dundas Ontario he was born 13 Sept. 1797, Douglas Lanarkshire and died at Springhill, Dundas, 1st March 1877. Springhill was the name of the house he built in Dundas. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Joan, Quebec, Canada
