I think $$ is a big issue with all of us; and is the reason we went piece Meal ( Iknow I did). To hit me with a $300 program, I would have second thoughts. I had a few of the programs and I didn't use it more than once Or twice....waste...............Now that I've got the whole works (kinda free) I know I have to work the devil out of 2006 and get all I can - if I can accomplish that then, it will actually be inexpensive. I gave a Genealogist $300 to find my grgr grandparents in Ireland - their info Only gave me a foot in the door; and it was later that I understood why my foot was there. We mature every time we search for our ancestors and if we keep looking In every corner, we'll find something (that's kinda obvious) I am more proud of my ancestry: Irish, Indian, English and no telling what else, than I can shake a stick at. I'm amazed at the History & Geography that is unfolding. That's opening up a new tangent in our education system. I too was contacted re the 'new package' and I had just renewed some of my Accounts and even discovered that I had been double-billed for the magazine; I had had numerous accounts because I twernt attentive enough to make sure Which account to be billed - to make it short: Ancestry has me under one Acct only and they are crediting me with the whole new package at no cost! So I guess everyone is different, but I am please with efforts Ancestry took To solve my perturbness. Personally I think Ancestry is charging way too much for the services they are offering. Their business model also has them buying up smaller companies and products so that the consumer has less choice when it comes to online genealogy. There are many free services out there, but of course 'ancestry' is easy because of the ease of access from my computer. I actually divided what I was paying by how many individuals ancestry had helped me to locate and I decided that the service was not worth the cost. I quit a few years ago (a procedure that they don't necessarily make easy for you). Frankly, I don't miss it. If I am going to pay over $400.00 for genealogy research I will start to consider paying a professional to help me with my brick walls. Hello Rita Faye: You recently posted a message that you have information on the above Benjamin Hamilton line. Would you possibly have a list of his children, with the next generation also? I am looking for a John Hamilton born ca 1770/75. Lived up-country South Carolina. Moved to Lincoln Co. TN 1810. Wife: Martha Greer. First child named Susannah, born 1800. I cannot find the parents of either John or Martha Greer Hamilton. Thanks for any information. Nancy Sicotte
