Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xFh.2ACEB/4564 Message Board Post: Looking for information on children of Richard F. Hamilton (born 1838) and wife Cate Cheshire. Two possible sons are Wright, born 1862 - and John born 1870. Residence of Richard in 1850 and 1860 is Bullitt Co. and in 1870 with the Cheshire family in Johnson Co. IN. Cate died about 1875, I believe, as husband Richard becomes guardian of Cate's daughter Viola Pharis, (daughter from first marriage). Unable to find Richard in 1880. Guardianship of Viola was transferred in 1877 to Nathan Pharis. Two other sons Richard E. and Charles L. remain in Bullitt-Nelson-Jefferson Counties, KY. What happened to Wright, and John? Is anyone else reseraching Hamiltons in these counties? Thanks for any additional information! And, for any suggestions and helps. Tami

I am almost certain that you are correct, whoever made that tree did not know the family that well. I honestly do not know if I am related to this lady in particular. I have only been able to find a great grandfather on the Hamilton side of my family, and have had no luck getting any further. I thought that maybe if I researched other families and tried to help other searchers, maybe I would run across some information about my family, since i cant seem to find it anywhere else. Good luck with everything. I will keep my eyes open and if i run across anything for Margaretha, I will be sure and send it your way.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xFh.2ACEB/4563.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you giving me all that info. I already have this information but am glad you have posted it for others to see. I am a direct decendend from Nicholas and I need to make a few corrections....First Christofel is NOT Nicholas' father.....Joachim Cutshall/Gottschall IS.There is such a conterversy over this but know from the family Bible this is not his dad. Joachim's father is Jurgen Gottschalk; mom is Katharine Trapp. Jurgen's father is Peter Gottachalk and his father was also named Peter. There have been so many mistakes about this family. But I know this family well enough to tell you that Chrstofel is NOT his dad. If you look at Christofel's birth date, it shows he was born 1793. How can that be possible when Nicholas was born in 1740??? The person posting this info probably got his/her information from someone who doesn't know this family well enough and made guess'. Second, wife # 4, 5, and 6 are repeats.....he was actually married 3 times...had children w/ one of the other women but not with the other. I was really wanting to know more about Margaretha Hamilton. I have found several queries about her and am getting quite curious about her and her family. Do you have anything on the Hamilton side?? Please e-mail me or leave message here. Thank you! Gloria P.S If you need anything on the Cutshall/Gottschall side, Let me know. :)

Margaretha Hamilton m: 1770 Westmoreland, PA Nicholas Cutshall Gotschall dob: 1740 Baunholder, Germany dod: September 27, 1807 Jefferson, OH Children: Jacob Gotschall Dob: October 11, 1771 Berks, PA Margaret Peggy Gotschall Dob: 1772 Johannes John Gotschall Dob: April 3, 1773 Montgomery, PA Catherine Cutshall Gotschall Dob: 1775 PA Maria Barbara Gotschall Dob: November 3, 1777 Pikes, Berks, PA George Johan Gotschall Dob: March 4, 1779 Berks, PA William Gotschall Dob: January 1, 1790 Exeter, Berks, PA Daniel Gotschall Dob: January 13, 1793 Exeter, Berks, PA Samuel Cutshall Gotschall Dob: September 21, 1795 PA Ok, now, I am not sure if these are all Margaretha's children. They are all Nicholas'. But, on the family tree that I found that listed this information, it says that Nicholas was married up to 6 times. Whoever was doing the family tree may have gotten confused but I will show you what I found. Wives: 1: Elizabeth Nuss m: 1758 2: Margaretha Hamilton m: 1770 Westmoreland, PA 3: Catherine Hass m: 1771 4: Unknown m: 1773 5: Margaret m: 1773 6: Margaretha m: unknown Like I said, someone may haven gotten confused and was listing children as wives, and nicknames of wives as additionals wives, im not sure. Father of Nicholas Gotschall: Christofel Gotschall d:1793 Hope this helps.
