    3. Hello all. It is so nice to see all these messages . I am researching my maternal greatgrandmother's Halvorson line. Olaus and Elen Jorgensdtr. Halvorson emigrated from Haldorshavn, Sør Trondelag in 1869 and settled in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. 1/2 the family farm is still in the family, and there has been an annual 4th of July celebration/reunion on the farm since 1877 or even earlier. When the patronymic change came in Norway, the remaining family in Norway chose a modified farm name of Haldorhamn as the last name. In the US the name has been spelled Halvorson, Halversen, Halvorsen - depending on who was writing what. Of Olaus and Elen's 16 children, 9 reached adulthood. Lizzie married Llauritz O. Melbye; Anna (Lava Ingeborg) married Frank Caesar (my great grandparents); Olive married Axel Ahlroth; Peder O. Halvorson; William married Rena Erickson; Georgia married Leonard Montgomery; John married Gunda Manstad; Albert married Mary Bandli and later Albertine Peterson. With one exception all these people stayed in the Rice Lake or Milwaukee area. Peter/Peder O. is the mystery uncle. He was the first son born to them, one month after they arrived in the US. He left home to go West in the late 1900's and was only heard from twice again. I am especially looking for any sign of him. Other lines I am researching are CAESAR (Swedish); BOISVERT (Fr. Canadian); GREENWOOD (Anglicized Boisvert in NE Wisconsin); ALLARD; PELLIGRIN; MASSART; SMITH; SHEARER; STOPPER; SIEWART; PREVETTE, GROVE Good to meet you all, and good luck to us all.
