Hello List, I have been quietly reading the e-mails of this list, the time has come to introduce myself ............ I am Rowyn (Halverson) MacLean, I live in Nova Scotia. I have been thrilled to find my Norweigan relatives living in the "olde" country. Through help provided by family members of old stories and addresses, I was able to connect back to our Norweigan relatives. Actually ...... when Halvor left for North America he had a twin sister who remained in Norway ... It is her gr. granddaughter that I have been able to contact !!!! and Marie lives in the old home that Halvor left so many years ago. Our founding couple from Norway are: Halvor Halvorson who married Bertha Sarah Jenson in Wallace, Nova Scotia on Oct 27/1883. Halvor, born 1855, from the island of Froyna, outside the village of Riser, south of Oslo. Bertha, born 1861, was from Tvedestrand, in the same area of Norway. This couple had a family of ten children.......their descendants are living in the old homstead in Wallace Grant. children of Halvor and Bertha (Jenson) Halverson: 1) John unmarried buried in Wallace Grant across the road from the old home. 2) Walmer married with children, lived in Wallace, N.S. 3) Clara married George Kirk, children, lived in New Annan, N.S. 4) Martin married with children, lived in Richmond, N.S. 5) Albert (my Grampy) married Roda Jane MacNutt, had children, lived in Malagash, N.S. 6) Katrina married James Chambers, children, lived in Malagash, N. S. 7) Douglas married, children, lived in Tatamagouche, N.S. 8) William married, children, lived in Truro, N. S. 9) George married, children, lived in Pugwas, N.S. 10) Annie unmarried, buried in Wallace Grant Cemetery. I WOULD LOVE TO MAKE CONNECTONS WITH MORE NOVA SCOTIA AND NORTH AMERICAN RELATIVES !!! Marie in Norway has sent me the family-tree in Norway dating back to a forefather born in 1711, Kvastad, Norway. Never stop researching your roots........... :^) Rowyn
