Hi, All, For those of you who would like to search for more info. on your ancestors in Germany, there are Rootsweb Lists for all parts of Germany and other countries that were at one time in Germany. These are the Lists: Bundesland-L covers *TODAY* Germany as established in 1945. North German Confederation lasted from about 1840s to 1871. Alsace-Lorraine covers just that region that is now in France. Prussia-Roots covers all that has been in the Kingdom of Prussia and specific origins within Prussia still unknown . Bavaria-L covers Bavaria. Baden-Wurttemberg-L covers Baden and Wurttemberg. Pfalz-L covers the Palatinate region. (Anthony Hallman came from this area.) Schleswig-Holstein-L covers that state. Trier-Roots covers southern Rheinland, Saarland and Luxembourg. Hesse-L covers Hessen. Posen-L covers the Province of Posen. German-Kingdoms-L covers the principalities and other kingdoms within what was the German Empire before the confederation, not including Bavaria, Baden-Wurttemberg, and other places already mentioned. Poland-Roots covers Poland and the Polish throughout the world. This gives you some idea of which List may be the most helpful to you in your research in Germany.
