I wanted to thank Vera Gates Hutchings for the lead she provided. It gave me a name, William E. Hallman, not just Billy Hallman and the name of the silent film he was in. I contacted the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences in LA, but they had only that he was in the film and nothing else, but then the librarian there suggested I get in touch with the Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, NYC. They have a file on both William E. Hallman and on my Grand-aunt Myra Donnelly. I don't know yet if William E. Hallman is the Hallman she married, but knowing there is something on file about both of them, makes Vera's lead worth it's weight in gold. In genealogy, you never know which suggestion or lead, no matter how big or small will pan out into something big. At the same time, I take caution that the lead may not give me much to go on in the end, but a lead is a lead. Ed Hagerty
