    3. Here's my "yes" vote...and my input. Congratulations on the first anniversary! I think I joined you soon after you began this adventure, trying to find a family for my Gx2 Grandmother, Hannah Hallman, who married Mahlon Barlow. You may recall that it took several months, but such excitement to finally nail it down! And so, here are my nine generations: Anthony Hallman 1671-1759 --> Henry Hallman 1716-1803 (m. Anna Marie Berson) --> Abraham Hallman 1767-1838 --> Abraham Hallman 1803-1853 --> Hannah Hallman 1828-1903 (m. Mahlon Barlow) --> John Franklin Barlow 1849-1910 --> George Ralston Barlow 1871-1933 --> Mary Elizabeth Barlow b.1908-still living and alert! (m. Ervin R. Spunaugle) --> me, Elaine Spunaugle Jeter, b.1934. That gets you from Anthony to me. From Anthony Hallman to John Franklin Barlow, all lived in Montgomery County, PA. John Franklin Barlow moved to Black Hawk County, Iowa in about 1875; George Ralston Barlow moved to Des Moines, Iowa in about 1905, where Mary Elizabeth Barlow was born. I was born in Clarinda, Page County, Iowa, though now I live in Poway, California, a suburb of San Diego. As for something about me--I am retired -- well, sort of. I don't work for a living anyhow. Just manage my "capital" so you might say I am a capitalist. I even write stock evaluations for a broker--Buy,Hold,Sell etc. I was a librarian (U.Kans, U.Kans.Med.Ctr., U.Cal.S.D.) for a time, and one of my volunteer jobs is a weekly 4-hour stint at the reference desk of the local library. I think of it as a game called "stump the librarian". I like music, history, bridge, and now and then I produce a TV show for public-access viewing. That makes me a TV producer, too. Another hobby is running various equipment in the TV studio with the group that I belong to that makes public access programs. (I know how to run all of it.) Maybe sometime I'll do a show about genealogy. Do you have suggestions? Like how I discovered I am a 5th cousin 4 times removed to General George Armstrong Custer. Hey, neat, huh? Not the most successful, but certainly the most FAMOUS Army officer of his era. :-) I have two grown sons and two grandchildren. My older son is a computer engineer (which comes in handy)--he lives in San Diego. My younger son is a US Navy Lt. Cmdr. He is currently stationed in Newport, RI and is doing liaison between our Navy and NATO, which means many trips to Brussels. I have been widowed twice; life goes on. We'll try to look on the bright side of things. So now you know a whole lot more about me than you probably wanted to know. Cousin Elaine <ejeter@concentric.net> Voice=858.485.0694; Fax=858.485.7908
