Hi Hallmans, A very,very big thankyou to Bill for his interesting story about his trip to Kleinniedesheim. I wish I had heard about this village ten years ago. A decade ago we traveled through Germany(and saw the passion play). During our stay in Heidelberg, we rented a taxi and took a trip to another small village,Escelbach. This was the birthplace of my grandmother, who was brought over to Canada by a widowed mother in about the year 1890. She was 12 years old.I have pictures of that ancestral home that were taken before they left Germany. It looks quite different today but is very lovely and well tended. I appreciate your difficulties with the language.We located the preachers son and he was our translator for a limited conversation with neighbors.
