    3. Hi Hallmans, I thank Bill for his description of Kleiniedesheim. I have been told by others that indeed, cemeteries in Europe are used again and again. I believe that after so many years, families of the deceased are no longer around to care for the gravesites, and land is at a premium, so the sites are recycled. In Prague, we visited the old Jewish cemetary, where the headstones are stacked up on top of each other, leaving as many as six or more for one site. It was a very moving experience to see all those stones in one small cemetery, a fact demonstrated by the quiet respectful attitude of those visiting. So many life stories that could be told! That's why we need to be writing our own histories down for our descendents. Elise
