My in-laws are descendants of Mary Halligan and Daniel Mahoney. Daniel and Mary settled in the Dubuque, IA area and had 13 children. One of the sons (John C.) married Mary Burds and they had 10 children. Two of their sons married two sisters and moved to Detroit, MI. I just recently started looking into the Halligan connection, but someone else had told me that Patrick Halligan married Mary McKenna, so now I need to do some more digging because that conflicts with what you posted. I did find that Patrick married Catherine Fay on 10 Oct 1854 in Grant Co, WI, but since he was 25 years older I thought it was a second marriage.
