They also lived nearby the Prendergrasts in Illinois according to censuses. I came into contact with a woman that was heavily researching these two families and she claimed that the Halligans and the Prendergrasts were very entwined all the way back to Ireland in County Mayo. The two families can be seen inter-marrying frequently. I will try to look for the information she sent me and let you know if you are still interested. Please let me know. Thanks and best of luck.
