The Ruans and Griffins lived on the same street when they left Ireland for England. They settled in Dewsbury, Yorkshire for about 20 years and then my Ruans (now Rowans) and at least one Halligan (who was marred to Winifred Ruan/Rowan) moved to New York City with a brief stop first in Patterson, NJ. I have lots more information now then when I first posted on this board, but there are still a lot of holes, too! Right now I am working on a tentative lead that the Ruans in Dewsbury came from a Kiltimagh in Ireland. Look forward to hearing from you!
