Halligan Crash Victim Lone Tree ---- Services for Vernon Halligan of Colchester, ILL., a former resident was killed in a car-train wreck Friday morning, will be Tuesday at the Evangelical and Reformed church of Lone Tree. He died Friday when the car in which he was riding was struck by a train in Lomax, ILL. He was a construction employe. He was born in Lone Tree Dec. 26, 1912, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Halligan. He married Nov. 16, 1937 in Iowa City to Grace Hahn. He is survived by his widow and father, two sisters, Bernadine and Leota Halligan both of here; two brothers, Ivan also of Lone Tree, and Carroll of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother. Officiating at funeral rites will be the Rev. Fred Weitge. Burial will be in the Lone Tree cemetery.
