The earliest ancestor listed was born John Halegan in 1804 in Ireland. We just don't know where in Ireland. This John Halegan married a woman from South Carolina, Ann. Their John Halegan/Hallighan/Halligan was born in Louisiana. The other children were born in Mississippi. We think most Halligans came from Armagh, but we don't know if John Halegan did.
