For many years I believed my great-great-grandmother, born in Ireland c. 1826, was an O'HOLLERAN, based on death certificate information from her daughter, my great-grandmother. Now two sources for one of her other daughters, Ellen, one a death certificate and the other a more reliable note from a wedding registration, indicate HALLIHAN was the proper surname. I've found that the town of Ballincollig, wes of Cork, has that surname. Margaret is married and in Canada by 1844 (so missed the Famine) William Carr (Husband) b.
