Barbara Lincoln Parks left three messages (3) in the guestbook that I think you should be aware of. She mentions that Mary Jo Parente is not well. Please read the guestbook and let me know what you think. Jim http://1957Waverlyhs.homestead.com/waverly2.html
Thank you , Jim. Mary

I myself am looking for any info on the Halligans but if I can help you --let me know what you need. I do know there are a Thomas & Mary Halligan buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Perry, NY. I'll have to check my records for the dates. I've thought maybe this would be Thomas Halligan and Mary Kellet but as I remember the birthdate of Thomas was off by a year. Marsha Redden
Bridget: I'm sorry, but my Halligan (James) arrived in U.S., via Canada, around 1846. James was born 12 May, 1825, married Catherine McCAULEY in 1855, and died 29 March, 1901 in Flandreau, S.D. I with I could connect him, in some way, with other Halligans as I've never been able to find any further information about him, prior to his arrival in the U.S. Again, I'm sorry I can't be of any assistance to you. She married John Francis Dwyer and had daughter, Mary Catherine Dwyer. Mary is my husband's grandmother. She was born in Putnam Co. IL
I also have an Anthony Halligan, perhaps from Louth or Meath, born circa 1803. Married to Mary McKenna or McCana and imigrated circa 1945 first to New Jersey, Pennslyvania, Wisconsin and settled in Iowa, Ft. Dodge by about 1880. His father was Owen. He had brothers named James and Patrick who also were in Iowa.... Any thoughts on the Anthony name? It is not as common as Patrick or James..... ----- Original Message ----- From: <galegion@bellsouth.net> To: <HALLIGAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 26, 2003 8:06 AM Subject: [HALLIGAN] Re: Anthony Halligan / Civil War history > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IQh.2ACIB/96.1.2 > > Message Board Post: > > This fellow enlisted in Company F of the Phillips Legion's Infantry Battalion on August 30th 1861. I don't know much about Thomas but I think he had about 5 children and may have remarried. It could have been the same Margaret if he remarried shortly afterwards, though this seems unlikely. Probable reason for remarriage in those days would have been death of partner. Regards Pat
