    1. [HALLIGAN] Help Keep This List Active
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. We just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

Author: micheleahalligan Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.halligan/71.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi. My husband has the same name as your grandfather. His father ( also called James ) was born in castlebar, county mayo 13 October 1909. He was the youngest of 13 children and his mother died when he was a baby so all the children were farmed out to relatives and friends. He ran away to England aged approximately 14 years old. We think some of his siblings were called Harry, George , Martin, nancy and Alice . George apparently went to Philadelphia, USA but we are not sure if any of the others went there. As most of the I IRSH records were lost in the fire in Dublin it is difficult to trace. We would be interested to hear your story as it is all about the same time and in the same county. Regards. I find that Family Search film #989750 St. Peter Parish Athlone & Roscommon has been digitized & I found baptism for Thomam HOLLEGAN 14 Dec. 1811 & other children of Joannis & Elenorae (CURLEY) HOLLEGAN. This was all the information that was displayed. Would there be additional information for this entry like maybe the godparents? There are baptisms of their other children as well. Father listed as Simonis,Timonis, or Joannis HOLLEGAN Mother listed as Eleanorae CURLEY Children listed as Michaelen, Bridgetam, Thomam & Lucam Has anyone looked at this microfilm that could tell me if there would be any more information on it? Thanks for any help on this. ...Gerry in MO
