Jim, We have talked in the past and I believe we have determined that we have no connection but I have to tell you..Your Hall's are in the same location as mine are. I have located a land deed dated 8-15-1838 which I thought was my John Hall Jr. but am not satisfied yet if it is or not. Any way this John Hall Jr.'s land on the Jefferson Co. 1876 Plat map shows Jos. Hall, S.E. Hall and D.H. Hall living next door to each other with a Squire Phillips and H. Phillips next to them. The thing is this land was not in Shelby Co., Kentucky but Shelby Co., Indiana. My family line also in Jefferson Co., lived in Madison and Hanover. When you mentioned that your Hall's lived on land below current Madison, Indiana it to peeked my interest. My mother in laws family owned the land which we have always called the bottoms. I don't know if it is the same land you are speaking of. If you have ever been down to Hanover College and you are looking out from what they call lookout point you will see the land our Walkers owned. I have a photo which shows the lands our family owned taken from the Colleges lookout point if you would like a copy. The family always referred to the land as Walker's Landing and my mother in laws grandfather was in charge of keeping the lantern lit for the steam boats to come in and dock. This was right on the Ohio and a main on off site. The land there had been owned buy the Walker's and Shannon's for what seems for ever. At one time our Shannon ancestors owned over 10,000 acres which included lands on both sides of the Ohio river in Indiana and Kentucky. Our Hall's on the 1876 plat map as a point of reference lived in Township 3 N. Range 8 E. sections 11 & 12. My Hall line also came out of Pennsylvania...Allegheny Co., Elizabeth Township. This probably doesn't help you much with the questions you are asking but I can't help but think there has to be a connection with our lines. Family # 6 tester # 33334. Our Hall's came down the Ohio river and settled in Jefferson Co., between 1838 and 1842. These are the dates representing when the last child was born in Pa. and the first child was born in Hanover. Roberta, Maybe you can help. My Halls are also from this area but I've hit a brick wall. I find August(us) Hall in 1860 when he married Elizabeth Mason in Carroll Co, Ky. August was born in 1825 somewhere in Indiana. Does anybody have this Hall member in their line? Thanks, Amy Hall McLeod [email protected] Jhall <[email protected]> wrote: Jim, We have talked in the past and I believe we have determined that we have no connection but I have to tell you..Your Hall's are in the same location as mine are.
