    1. [HALL] Hall families of Sampson and Cumberland counties, NC

    3. Hi, I have had someone write me looking for information about the Hall families of Sampson county, North Carolina. She has ancestors Alexander "Sandy" Hall, b. abt 1815 in NC who was married to an Ann Fisher about 1840. They had several children including a James Bailey Hall born in Sampson county in 1849. Various references give Alexander's parents as James Hall and Rachael Hall (d/o Barnabus Hall and Penelope Bullard.) This seems like a fairly large Hall family as there were 9 Hall families documented in Sampson county in the 1790 census, including Barnabus. Yet I have found very little research on the family. Does anyone have anything to share? thanks, john Nashua, NH
