They are found in the 1870 census John is 84 and Dorcas 74. In the 1860 census also in Potter, John born about 1787 and Dorcas born about 1897, both New York with daughter Fanny (Frances) Vandevort b about 1824 NY and her children Henry born 1845 (William Henry Harrison Vandevort) and Fanny's daughter Emily born 1847, both in NY. In the 1855 New York Census on the web site Yates County DOT org John is called John Jr. and also Dorcas is there and also in the home are Hester Ann Hall In the 1850 census also Potter, John born 1786 and Dorcas born 1796, with either daughters or daughters-in-law Esther/Hester Hall b about 1834 and Julia Hall b about 1828 -- and daughter Fanny is NOT there but her two children William Henry and Emily are living in Potter with John and Dorcas Hall.
