Dear Hall List, I need to humbly retract my claim that someone else has posted something on another site in my name. Apparently there is something called an [email protected] When I had originally brought what I regarded as an infringement to someone's attention that person told me that perhaps the post had been part of the automailer process. (Mind you, this still does not explain how my name became associated with this post.) But the site administrator told me that it was impossible for anything to have come to his site through the Rootsweb Automailer process. And I took him at his word. And I became outraged, as you know. Wouldn't you? I have now reinvestigated this and see clearly that there WAS a transmission to this particular site by [email protected] It's in the Hall archives. Again, it does not explain how my name became associated with the post. But it does let me know that it was more likely a computer glitch that will probably never be fully understood, rather than a blatant infraction by someone on this list. This is somewhat a relief.
