I should add, I have exhausted all avenues that I know of, been researching this dead end off and on for 14 years now. Ancestry.com, all online Hardin County Genealogy sites (google, Cyndi's list, Elizabethtown, Rootsweb, Genweb, Kindred Trails, etc.) I've exhausted the Genealogy section of the St Louis Library, all libraries in Alexander County Illinois, all my cousins and Aunts. My last shot was hoping someone else had run across this name in their research in Kentucky or Southern Illinois. thanks for any help or advice. Denise, I don't have a Sarah or Matlida Morton in my file but I do have Morton's in my mother in laws line. Have you checked southern Indiana, specifically Hanover, Jefferson Co., This town is on the Ohio river with Kentucky a stone's throw away, although many of our Morton's stayed in Jefferson Co., other family members were known to have migrated across into Kentucky. Also the Ohio river could have been their mode of transportation to Illinois. The son in law of our earliest (in our direct line) Morton, William Wade Walker owned property known as Walker's landing and this is where the steamboats would dock. It held a "Cooper's Bar Light" on the property so the steamboats could navigate the shallow shores. Our Morton's came from Scotland and I have the ships manifest for that, that is a copy of. Don't know if this will help you but it might. Roberta Hall ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 17, 2007 8:47 AM Subject: [HALL] John P.
