She sailed on the Amaranth with her parents and siblings. She married and settled on South Ridge (now Tschumper Ridge) near La Crescent and Hokah, Minnesota, and near LaCrosse, Wisconsin. One family searcher said she's from Austria. Her tombstone says she is from Hourdow, Deutschland. However, my parents said she was Swiss. I've been unable to locate the word "Hourdow" on the internet. Has anyone heard of the place? Does anyone know where Veronica (Veronika) Hicke (born 1847 ?) was born?
