Author: collectiblehistory Surnames: Classification: deed Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hall/14264/mb.ashx Message Board Post: 1858 Deed Known All Men By These Presents That I Sylvia Downing of Auburn in the County of Androscoggin and the State of Maine in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirty five dollars paid by Lydia Hall of Auburn County and said state aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto said Lydia Hall her heirs and assigns forever a certain dwelling house this day conveyed to me by the said Lydia Hall and now standing on land owned by Elisha Hall, and for further particular reference may be had to my deed. To have and to hold the aforegranted and bargained Premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof, to the said Lydia her heirs and assigns to their use and behoof forever. And I do convenant with said Lydia her ehirs and assigns, that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises, that they are free of all incumbrances ; that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the same Lydia - I will warrant and defend the same to the said Lydia her heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. Provided Nevertheless, That is the said Sylvia Downing her heirs, executors, or administrators pay to the said Lydia Hall her heirs, executors, or administrators or assigns the sum of one hundred and thirty five dollars the fifteenth day of June next and interest then this Deed, as also a certain note bearing even date with these presents, given by said Sylvia Downing to the said Lydia Hall to pay the sum interest at the time aforesaid, shall both be void, otherwise shall remain in full force. In Witness Whereof, the said Sylvia Downing have hereunto set her hand and seal this fifth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eoght hundred and forty six.
