Jane, Kentucky Marriage Records have John King (as spelled), 30, living in Bath, KY, born Bath Co., KY, single, married on March 4, 1858 to Elizabeth Hall, 24, single, living in Miner, born Fleming Co., KY. In the remarks section there is what appears to be a name, but hard to make out, _ol Parker or _al Parker, is what it looks like it could be. Kentucky Death Records do not have a record for the death of Elizabeth Kring but they do have a record for John M. Kring: John M. Kring, male, white, widowed, born July 15, 1829, birth place unk., died May 12, 1913, age 84-9-27 in Yale, Menifee County, KY; father William Kring, mother unk.; informant looks to be Jas. T. Mynhier Also in death records: William H. Kring, male, white, married, born January 10, 1859, Kentucky, died June 4, 1917, aged 58-4-24, Menifee County, KY; father John Kring born Kentucky; mother Elizabeth Hall, born Kentucky; informant John Kring, Yale, Kentucky. John Milton Hall, male, white, marital status not clear, born April 7, 1859 in Kentucky, died December 11, 1952, aged 93-8-5, living in Zilpo, Bath, KY; parents John Kring and Elizabeth Hall; informant Silis Richardson Obviously there is something wrong in the birth year for one of the sons. Ancestry has William H. Kring indexed as J.H. Kring, born 10 Jan 1853, but actual record has name as Willaim H. and birth year appears to be 1859 on the actual document. Not my family. Hope this helps somewhat. Cheryl Hall At 05:53 PM 1/23/2009, you wrote: > I am looking for Elizabeth Hall married to John D. Hi, Please let me personally and pubicly thank Roberta and Cheryl for the efforts that they have done to respond to a list member's request. Their actions are what I would like to see more of on this list. It would seem that this list is busy with lots of notes gateway'ed from the message board, but the list members have been exceptionally quiet. I know there are hundreds of you out there ... Nel does not even seem to be getting much new to report on the DNA project front. ;-) I could request a roll call to see if that will get some of the people lurking on the list to contribute. But the last time I did that it seemed that just the usual suspects bothered to pipe up. Maybe... what we are doing is enough for everyone... On some of my other lists, I encourage folks who have made a discovery, that they send me privately, to send the information to the list. The reason is that by sending it to the list, the data will get archived in the list archives for others to find. And maybe it will be the clue that breaks through someone's brick wall. I have an active Hall line that I do research from time to time, but Hall is not the center of my research universe. [I am still looking for a descendant of Thomas Hall (or one of his brothers...) and Elizabeth Sloan from Iredell county, North Carolina, to join the DNA project...] So... I do not have a lot of research discoveries to report, as others might. But, please, share with us how this list and community can serve you better. thanks, john.
John, No problem. Jane had a specific request and I knew I was able to help. 20 odd years ago when I started this I purchased the Family Tree program. Back than you could order CD's. I am still using Family Tree as it's the program I'm used to. 20 years ago I was working on my father's Estes family, who were primarily in the south. I haven't purchased CD's in several years but I have several. If some one has a specific request, i.e. a specific CD # and party name, I can see if I have it and do a look up as time permits. I have to many to list here but in looking at some of them I do have Colonial Genealogies #1, Va. Genealogies #1, Book of Emigrants # 350, Mayflower Descendants # 203, WFT volumes 1-32 just to name a few. If I can help I will. Again it has to be specific. Just give me the CD# and a persons name and I will see if I can help. I was just talking to Cheryl about a roll call. The list is quiet and leads have dried up. If anyone has anything new out there I would love to hear it. In mine and Cheryl's case....Cheryl had a cousin of hers ( a known cousin) take the DNA test. To our surprise the DNA came back and was not a exact match to her as we expected it to be instead it was an exact match to me, my first exact 64 marker match in our family group #6. Do we know what it means. NOOOOOOOOOO! This ends up in the technical DNA mutation category which I don't think others on the list what to hear about. I sure would like to know what it means. I am also dropping my pursuit on the information Mr. Lew Lessler wrote about on the lineage of Jacob and Mary Charlesworth Hall. Unless someone from this line has done a DNA test to prove otherwise I believe Mr. Lessler attached my John and Mary Clayton Hall to this line by mistake. No proof has been found to confirm his theory and with our family # 6 history it appears the two line are not related, at least in my opinion. If something comes up to the contrary than I will look further into it. Anyone else out there willing to tell us what they have going on or stuck on?
