I guess I need to post my one little lonely but important Hall name as I have been on here lurking for over a week now. Angeline Hall, b. 1848, in possibly Iowa married Thomas (according to the death certificate) or W.H. (according to the funeral home) Porter. This is my gg-grandmother and this is all I have. They did have children: William, b. 1864 in Des Moines, Iowa; Rose Ella, b. 1870 in Iowa; James R.; and Jane Porter. I cannot find a record of their marriage. This family always said they were Cherokee, but how the Cherokee got to Iowa during this time frame leaves me to wonder. Also, I cannot find them on census reports. And also, if you were a bootlegger would you be on the run so much that you wouldn't ever make it on a census? This is something I am beginning to wonder about. I do have a Porter picture and it appears that they had themselves a nice little business going. Does anyone else have Halls in Iowa or native American Halls or a Hall that was a little bit of a blacksheep? <VBG> This one is tough! Thanks, Connie
