Have a William Hall who was born in Scotland. He was in the US at least when his son James Patton Hall was born on June 29, 1843. William married one Elizabeth Patton who was also born in Scotland. James Patton was born in New York City, and served with the 47th NY Infantry, Co K. in the Civil War. Wm and Elizabeth also had 7 other children: Mabel Woolsey, Julia Sproul, Eliz. Hall, Albert Hall (my line) , Robert Hall and a William Hall. Most of these are buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. There is a whole boatload of Halls there. The cemetery is most helpful.
