    1. Halls of Southern Illinois
    2. Please send me your most wanted HALLS that touched down in Southern Illinois!! Have spent the last 2 weeks inputing into the computer a lifetime collection of information on the HALLS that lived or migrated thru southern Illinois. Now don't stop reading because you believe this is just Illinois!!! As many of you know, the Old Pike or the National Road ended at southern Illinois and there existed a transient atmoshere which attracted pioneers moving westward. Some even ended up staying for a generation before moving on. The National Road started in Maryland and wound around lightly touching upon Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and Indiana. Then comes the migration of ancestors from Georgia, North Carolina,Tennessee and Kentucky. Some points of origin have been Anson County, NC; Wilkes County, GA and Maury County, TN. Lastly we have the Mississippi wayfarers. Many travelling on flatboats up the muddy river and disembarking in southern Illinois. I would like to hear from anyone with a HALL ancestor who lived in Saline County, Wayne County, White County or Hamilton County, Illinois. If I can't help you, maybe I can put you in touch with others that can. Candee Hoff, a desc. of Elizabeth Hall Clevenger Cross
