Am looking for info on Pvt. James Hall served in Capt. Henry M. Newlan's Co. in Thomas H. Benton's Reg't of Tennessee Vols. in an expedition to the Natches Trace between 1812 & 1813. He volunteered in Maury County, Tn., for a period of 12 months on or about December 10, 1812 and was honorable discharged April 20, 1813. He reenlisted in Newlan's Co. on October 1813,. By this time he was under the Reg't commanded by Col. William Bradley. James Hall served until discharged at Huntsville, Al. on January 20, 1814. James Hall married Jane Chum in Tennessee bet.1814-1818. In 1826 he removed to Wayne county, Illinois in 1826 where he lived the for 30 years. According to his grandson's sketch, W. F. Hall, of Boyleston, James moved to Washington County, IL near Nashville for 2 years, then returned to Wayne County, Illinois and settled in Four Mile Twp. He remained there 'til his death in 1864. His wife had predeceased him by 7 years.
