Hi Bertha, Yes, I have run across an Elias HALL in the 1810 thru 1850 PAChesterCo Censi who I feel is most likely the father of the Elias HALL who married Sydney P. ELY. We'll start with 1850, Chester Co., East Nantmeal Twp: Elias HALL age 66 [b.c1784] and wife Elizabeth, age 64 [b.c1786] are listed with Elizabeth [HALL?]SNYDER, age 32 [b.c1818], her husband Eli SNYDER and their son named Elias, age 9, among others. It appears that in the1810 PAChesterCo Census, East Nantmeal Twp, Elias and Elizabeth HALL had one son <10 and one daughter <10. The son could be your Elias b.c1802/3 and was probably born in Solebury, Buck Co, PA. Check the Buck Co. churches, especially the Friends MM, for there are clues pointing that way. From the census records it appears that there were four sons and two daughters in this family. The Chester County Court House Archives in Will Book #21, page#77 show Elias HALL, East Nantmeal, papers #13292 were recorded or proven on 3-30-1858. From them you should be able to find out whether it is for the father Elias or for the son Elias HALL.. I've got an old phone #696-5370, but no area code. It may still be good! I hope that this helps you, Bertha!! Please, let me know what factual information this turns up for you. I would appreciate receiving your HALL genealogy, especially from 1850 and earlier. It could possibly help me in fleshing out the gaps in my search for my G3GF Daniel HALL. I've got much more detail on the HALLs of Chester Co. I hope we can connect here. Best wishes and many discoveries, Ray Hall >Ray, >In you post about the HALL-L@rootsweb.com on the PHILLY-ROOTS list on >August 15, 99; you mentioned that you knew of 9 families of Halls in >Chester Co. In your searching of census records, for you G3GF Daniel >Hall, have you came across Elias Hall, born abt. 1802/03. I have seen >him listed twice in the LDS stite and one said just PA. the other, >Solebury, PA.. Neither gives any info on his parents. Elias Hall >married Sidney P.
