I was lucky! Our daughter spent a lot of time with her grandmother; one day, while looking at old pictures, she suggested that her grandmother write on the back who everyone was, and she did. It sure helped when going through them after she died. I suggested the same to my aunt (on my Hall side) and she did the same thing. She still has them -- at 89 she is still going strong! But we did have one old album on another branch of the family that had absolutely nothing written. We never even knew if they were family or just friends, finally decided they were just friends, as none of the subjects even slightly resembled people in identified pictures. Joan
