I have found a few of the reasons my father didn't know much about the family from my genealogy. It seems after they left Kentucky about 1900 they went all over Illinois I have wondered if there wasn't some family squabble that caused this. I also found out my Grandfather transported prostitutes from one "house" to another during prohibition ( he later was a minister) but Stictness and Silence about the past seems pretty common in the Hall lines I have followed.
